Fisico in red for 2010 as well
Giancarlo Fisichella's dream of driving the Ferrari will not disappear at the end of the current F1 season. The contract, just signed by the Oikos sponsored driver, his manager Enrico Zanarini and the famous Italian team sees a role as the 3rd driver in red for the 2010 season as well. In the meantime, whilst Giancarlo, for the first time wearing the sought after red race suit, got to grips with his new car, the first declarations to the press have now arrived from Maranello as to why the driver from Rome had been chosen. "I chose Fisichella for various reasons – declared the president of Ferrari Luca Cordero di Montezemolo – firstly because he deserves it, he is in great form and is an expert race driver. At Monza we all wanted to have an Italian driver in our car and furthermore it is a long term choice as he will be the third Ferrari driver". "This - continued Montezemolo – is an important moment: we are coming off the back of a great win with Kimi Raikkonen and we have the fantastic and very important news that Felipe Massa is recovering well and will be ready for the first race of next year. I would like to thank Luca Badoer who once again has shown great willingness towards Ferrari. I am now looking forward to Monza with great hope and above all very happy to have Fisichella on board and part of the team".
