In the framework of its internal training activities and continuous updating about themes related colour at 360°, OIKOS has participated in the 11th edition of the International Colour Associations's world congress, that took place in Australia from the 27th September to the 2nd of October at the University of New South Wales in Sydney. The International Colour Association (AIC, abbreviation that corresponds to its French name, Association Internationale de la Couleur), is a cultural society whose main objective is that of facilitating the research into every aspect concerning colour, spreading the knowledge gained from this research and promoting internationally, the application of this research to resolve problems within the fields of science, art and the design industry.
The Congress in Sydney, where Vicky Syriopoulou participated on behalf of OIKOS, has traditionally gathered together work on all themes and sectors that are linked to colour by means of a wideranging and organised program of work sessions (some in common and some running in parallel).
The space dedicated to the world of colour among aborigines was very original and appreciated by everyone (the inauguration cerimony of the congress was animated by some famous and highly respected aborigine artists), with reference to its symbology and its various interpretations. At the event, there were some of the greatest experts and professors from all over the world present to give various speeches and who were able to discuss various intriguing themes regarding above all knowledge and its main disciplines: from psychology, physics, physiology, chemistry to art history, biology and communication sciences.
